Seeing as I have been terrible at keeping up with my blog, I am taking the shotgun approach to this blog entry. Prepare yourself for randomness.
Language school is going great. I switched language classes, but stayed in the same grammar class. Apparently my grammar is better than my ability to speak Spanish
I went to my first fœtbol game several weeks ago – an experience that I will never forget. Just got back from a mission trip to San Carlos, a region to the northwest of San Jose. We ministered to kids, did construction work, ate some great food, drank some amazing coffee, praised the Lord, met new friends, and enjoyed an evening soaking in some hot springs – an amazing trip. Mom & Dad are coming to visit in mid-December, and I can’t wait. I bought my first bilingual Bible yesterday. I love my Tico family. The highlight of my week is Tuesday night fœtbol, where I am constantly reminded of my lack of athletic ability. Thankfully, I can still have a blast without being able to dribble una pelota de fœtbol. Our classmates and teachers at the language school are absolutely amazing. I am currently reading a book of Costa Rican history, and I just bought my first Spanish novel. I have been loving time with my teammates: playing cards with the Thompsons, chillin’ at the hospital and at home with the Yoakums, Monday nights with the Davidsons, Wednesday night church (and fried chicken) with Lee, dinner at the Fletchers, and our daily interactions at school. I have truly been blessed with some amazing “framily”
Until next time…
